Our lessons

Driving a scooter in Bali is the best way to explore the Island. You can avoid traffic jam and experience life in Bali like a real local, however it might be a bit scary if it's your first time in Bali. Traffic here can seem chaotic, but no worries we can teach how to drive a scooter!

What does a lesson look like?

We will come to your hotel to pick you up. From there we take you to a quiet location like a parking lot to start the lesson. On the way we'll explain all about the traffic and what to pay extra attention to here in Bali.

Once we arrive the lesson starts with going over the basics of the bike. We'll explain where everything is located and how to use it.

Then it's time to get on the scooter and try to ride it. Practice using the accelerator, braking, balancing and making turns. Once that goes well and you feel completely comfortable we'll continue the lesson on a quiet road before trying it in the more crowded areas.

Before you know it you blend in the real Balinese traffic.

I took a scooter lesson with Kadek and am so glad I did!! If you want to learn to drive a scooter and are nervous at all, Kadek is the perfect person to teach you. He has a great way of calming your nerves to make you feel more comfortable and he speaks English very well, so he can explain all the details of how the bike works.

We went to an empty lot to practice--first he showed me all about the bike, then did a couple laps of him driving so he could point out some things to be aware of, then a few times of me driving with him on the back, then the rest of the time I was able to practice on my own with him standing nearby to give feedback and advice.

Kadek was so patient, encouraging, and helpful--and his price is so cheap! I really enjoyed getting to spend the morning hanging out with him. I know he offers tours too, and even though I didn't take one I would recommend doing one--he is so kind and friendly, speaks great English, and can teach you a lot about Balinese culture.

I spent almost three hours with Kadek having never driven a scooter before. We went all the way from driving in a parking lot near Ubud and by the time I was done I was crossing the main street and making u-turns in traffic with confidence. He's an excellent instructor and included a lot of interesting history and information about Bali while we were riding around. The rates are very reasonable and being able to get around by myself means he really gave me access to the whole island. I cannot recommend strongly enough.

Before coming to Bali I never rode a scooter before, so the crazy, lefthand traffic really intimidated me. The first scooter lesson with Kadek made me way more confident and I'm sure, after the second one I will be ready to face the traffic on my own. Kadek teaches you step by step on a safe parking lot and later takes you to practice in the more quiet streets, He totally adjusts to your learning speed and your level of confidence while driving. And he literally has your back, since you learn driving with him sitting behind you! And his English-skills are really good, because he worked on a cruise ship for 10 years!
